Summer is a practical dining set that elaborates on simple traditional furniture designs with a "new touch of modernity", according to designer Cristophe Pillet.
The chairs have a modern wireframe minimalism, but the seats and backs are woven in either synthetic Shintotex wicker or rope as a homage to the craftsmanship which has defined POINT furniture collections for over 100 years. “The decorative effect is produced here by the texture of the weave. It therefore has something very elaborate (handmade), with a very strong, very simple design,” explains Pillet.
The chairs are also very functional, stacking to save space when stored, and for easy portability. The three dining tables sport a complementary modern industrial feel and are available with HPL high-pressure laminate tops for easy maintenance, or porcelain for a more traditional look.
Fup ottomans are handy as a footstool to kick your feet up and relax after a hearty meal.
