The Drachmann range is the quintessence of classic Scandinavian garden furniture design. The teak bench imitates an old romantic garden bench of the Danish poet and painter Holger Drachmann (lead time 2-3 weeks). The whole collection is also available in white-painted Sapelli wood, which gives it a timeless flair (lead time 4-6 weeks). The familiar cross back will be an elegant addition to any garden area.
The Drachmann Collection comprises a chair, benches and dining tables in different sizes. Note that painted furniture should not be left outdoors in sub-freezing temperatures. They should be stored for the winter under cover in an unheated room, such as a garage or basement.
If you are interested in adding comfort to your seats, check out all the Drachmann cushion options. Cushions are wrapped in Oeko-Tex certified outdoor fabric which is extremely color and lightfast as well as water and dirt-repellent and even mildew-resistant. The cushion core features quick-dry foam for excellent performance in bad weather. Note that cushions are special order and will increase the overall lead time.

Teak is commonly found in Southeast Asia and Central and South America. Our FSC-certified teak comes from Southeast Asia, Central America and Brazil, while our non-certified teak comes from plantations in Indonesia and Trinidad; managed to sustain a renewable and reliable supply of wood. Teak is a heavy, hard and sturdy type of wood. The high content of natural oils makes it highly weather and rot resistant and is therefore a good choice for outdoor furniture.
Caring for Teak. Skagerak suggests to do a general cleaning when needed with a suitable wood cleaner and soft bristle brush. Rinse afterwards with clear water and let it dry. Note: Wipe off tables, benches and chairs after dinner and such with a dry cloth.
As the wood is untreated, the surface will patinate over time and eventually turn into a beautiful silvery gray color. If you wish to preserve or intensify the original honey-golden color, Skagerak advises to use a suitable furniture oil on a regular basis. No matter what you choose, the wood will be resistant to everyday wind and weather thanks to the high content of natural oils.
During winter we advise you to store the furniture in an unheated room such as a garage or cellar.
Painted Sapelli. Sapelli is commonly found in the whole region of Central Africa. The Sapelli Skagerak uses comes from the Republic of the Congo and is FSC-certified; ensuring a sustainable forest management. Sapelli's sturdiness and high density makes it unrivaled when it comes to painted wood designs. The specially developed paint is applied layer upon layer with intermediate sandings between each step, continuing until the surface is completely smooth. The paint also protects against green growth and discoloring—making the product resilient for outdoor usage.
Caring for Painted Sapelli. Clean your product with a suitable furniture cleaner and a soft brush. To achieve the best result, we recommend to disassemble your furniture and carefully clean all parts—as some corners and joints will otherwise be difficult to reach properly. Wood is an organic material that moves and reacts to changes in humidity and temperature.
After cleaning, its therefore a good idea to dry off the product in a garage or the like for 2-3 days. When fully dried, check thoroughly for small cracks or scratches. To avoid further damage, these should be fixed immediately by using our repair-kit with touch-up lacquer provided with the product.
Don't forget to look after scratches under the legs of your furniture. Lastly, we recommend treating the painted Sapelli with Skagerak's Multi Protector; developed to ensure a water, dirt and grease repellent surface.
During winter the furniture should be stored in an unheated room such as a garage or cellar.
Outdoor Textile. Agora Panama is Oeko-Tex certified and solution-dyed acrylic fabrics used for upholstering cushions and pillows. The acrylic fiber used is a synthetic but cotton-like fabric with world-class features for outdoor usage, making it:
- Extremely color and lightfast
- Water and dirt repellent
- Free from harmful substances
Caring for Outdoor Textile. Wipe the fabric with a firmly wrung cloth. In case of more obstinate stains, remove the upholstery and machine wash it at 86° F (30° C). If the upholstery is not removable, the textile must only be washed with a wrung cloth.
Quick-Dry Outdoor Foam has an open cell structure which allows both water and air to pass through freely. This makes the cushion dry exceptionally quickly—even after being soaking wet—with little to no need of maintenance. Moreover, the foam provides a firm and comfortable texture which remains the same year after year.
Caring for Quick-Dry Outdoor Foam. If the cushion is exposed to heavy rain, we recommend placing the cushions upright for quick drainage. Soon after, the cushion will be dry and can be used again.
